Fort Stewart Fire assists in Tattnall County water tower rescue

Fort Stewart firefighters recently used their specialized lifesaving skills and training to rescue a Tattnall County maintenance worker from a 135-foot tall water tower in Cobbtown after he collapsed while repairing it May 21.

The installation's Special Rescue Team-a rescue truck, a 105-foot platform truck, and six firefighters-was dispatched upon the county's request to assist in the rescue of the 21-year-old county employee.

HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - A community health fair and women's expo is being held on Saturday in Hinesville.

Police investigate death at Cypress Bend mobile home

HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC)- Hinesville police are investigating a death that took place at the Cypress Bend Mobile Home Park on E.G. Miles Parkway Monday afternoon.

Police say two male Ft. Stewart soldiers were involved in the incident. According to police, one soldier called 911 around 1 p.m. to report an accidental shooting. 

Neighbors say a woman and child live in the mobile home where the incident took place but were not home at the time.

Man wanted in Liberty Co. on robbery, burglary charges

LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC)- Authorities in Liberty County are searching for a man in connection with a strong arm robbery.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office is looking for Amos Campbell. He's wanted on charges of criminal attempt to commit strong armed robbery, burglary and aggravated battery.

He is also wanted for parole violation. They said he has a history of violence and is known to carry weapons. Anyone who sees him or knows where he might be can call authorities right away.
